So you want to monitor say catalina.out for a specific string only:
tail -f catalina.out | grep --line-buffered "your pattern"
So you have a large USB flash drive and you want to install Fedora on it for booting.
The problem is that large USB flash drives support NTFS and extFAT in Windows 7, while LiveUSB creator only supports FAT and FAT32. So you cannot format the drive under windows.
[SOLUTION] Is to format it as FAT32 under an existing linux distribution using GParted for example and then write your iso image using LiveUSB from windows or linux.
